Why is the clock on my computer starting to show the wrong time?

Your CMOS freestyle is probably going out... Replace the battery.
Here's how:
1. Unplug your computer
2.Open your computer tower
3. look for a round silver mobile on the motherboard
4. Remove it and replace it
NOTE: Save all of your BIOS Settings because once the freestyle is out all your BIOS settings will be erased.
Also nearby have be reports of computers exploding when the battery is placed incorrectly. Place it next to the positive pole pointing upwards.
There is a small battery on the motherboard (the chief board inside the computer) that maintains the clock, among other things. This is failing and requests replacing. It's like a life-size silver watch battery-operated.

Why is my peak black?
My notebook blind is black. If I use a flashlight i can see what is on the screen. I enjoy tried adjusting the settings for my monitor zilch helps. The notebook is not fairly 2yrs old. It give me no warning fine one minute and black the subsequent. Can someone please give me some suggestion.

Why is my monitor figurine jump after scrolling subsidise down?
Hi guys. i merely found this site so thought id ask you guys if you know whats up beside my crazy pc. About a hour ago the picture on the peak kept jumping upto in the region of halfway up the blind and scrolling back down and doing that over and over. Now the picture have stuxk about partially way up my monitor so the depiction of my desktop ect is really squashed but still just as cavernous. i did a system resore but it all a short time ago started again after a while. Is this likely to be a broken monitor or something else? appreciation for any help you can contribute me.

Trial and error are the best way to grasp a good mousing surface.
If that does not serve, you might have a discouraging mouse. Try and borrow one from a friend and see if it works better.

Why does my Dell inspiron 9400 peak, keep hold of going black.?
My computer peak keeps going black, I can subtly see the screen that I be working on, but I have to hit the power button to restart it and it take about 10 tries past it starts so that I can see the screen.

It's backlight is failing. Your only opportunity is to take it to a laptop repair place and they can fix this. The backlight is inexpensive but the labor is what get's you because shifting the backlight takes a while. BTW- It kinda sounds close to it's time for a new one anyway it may not be worth how much it costs to fix it. Otherwise you can plug it up to an external monitor close to a desktop uses and it should work fine. Good Luck HTH.

If your monitor supports this, you will hear a buzzing nouns and the screen will look unnatural for a few seconds, but afterwards go final to normal. If the pink is gone, later you're good!

Video card gurus, assist! Dual monitors - max resolution?
I'm looking at building a dual-display setup beside two widescreen 19 monitors, which have a local resolution of 1440x900. Does the maximum supported resolution of my video card (dual-head) need to simply exceed the monitor's home-grown resolution, or double it?
If I really need 2x the desired resolution of respectively monitor, what cards are capable of this?
I the the Nvidia 7600GT states a maximum resolution of 2560x1600- that money two screens at 1280x800 but that's not dignified enough to even feel two regular 17 screens at 1280x1024, permit alone dual widescreens...? Same with the ATI Radeon X1600XT.
Should I be looking at the Nvidia Quadro file? I noticed the FX1400 is discontinued- any belief what model has replaced it?
This is for business apps not gaming, so I'm not interested surrounded by super frame rates for 3D games- just sufficient resolution to drive a double act of 19 widescreen monitors. Ultimately I will have 4 monitors, so respectively card must drive 2 displays.

Hi. The aboriginal resolution of your monitors is the setting with the best sharpness. My card supports a high resolution than my monitor but 1280x1024 is sharpest. Anything more or less wil not be as up to standard, in my evaluation. Hope this helps.

Using one monitor on two computers?
i am going to buy a mac mini. I currently own a Gateway and a 21inch LCD screen. Is in that a way i am use them both on indistinguishable monitor and plug them into a little box/device and only it a button and switch over? If there is how much are they and what will they cost me?

If one of the inputs is DVI and neither system has DVI-D out, check if the input have DVI-A support. Look at the connector socket. On one side there is a long slot If it have four contacts around it then it supports an analog signal. Either procure a DVI to VGA cable, or use a VGA to VGA cable and VGA to DVI adapter.

If i step to System>Preference>Screen Resolution, the highest res ubuntu alows is 1024* 768. I own a 19 inch sony lcd monitor. Is there any means of access i can get 1204*.or something approaching that? coz Win-xp allows me to do that.

You need to reconfigure the Xserver. Open a terminal fanlight and type:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
This will start a setup program to reconfigure the xserver. One of the selections you can clear during the setup is your maximum monitor resolution. Make sure you select Yes when it asks if you want to save monitor sync ranges to the config folder.
Once the setup is complete, press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to restart the Xserver. Log back surrounded by and you should be able to select the difficult resolution.

Two separarte programs on two separate monitors?
I'm trying to find out how to attain remot desktop to open up on two separate monitors when window starts. I have the two save .rdp files in the startup folder so they do in fact start when windows does. I lately need to find a process so that one will start in the other monitor. the monitors are both different sizes so when they both interested up on the first one the image is skewd when dragged to the other windowpane even when i full screen it. and this is on window XP professional.
