First, don't have a feeling bad, because there's scarcely anything in HD. My cable company just has 25 HD channel and half of them aren't drastically good. It's really great for sports, but beyond that you're not missing much.
Second, HD technology have been around for nearly 10 years. Broadcasters and production companies enjoy been dragging their foot on it for a long time, so it's only immediately that it's starting to come out, but I've been audible range about it forever.
Give it another year and HDTV's will be totally affordable. Start good your pennies and jump on the bandwagon.
