Using one monitor on two computers?

i am going to buy a mac mini. I currently own a Gateway and a 21inch LCD screen. Is in that a way i am use them both on indistinguishable monitor and plug them into a little box/device and only it a button and switch over? If there is how much are they and what will they cost me?

Answer:

Yes nearby is a device, its called a KVM switch, where on earth you can use one monitor one keyboard and one mouse for two computers, I regard the smallest KVM switch has 4ports, so you can in actual fact use 4 computers on 1 monitor mouse and keyboard
IT's call a KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch. They are not that expensive. You can go to a local computer store to see if they enjoy it or go online and buy it.
i hold not heard of one check

good luck
There is a device, my friend have one. I'm not sure what its called though, sorry. You might shift to a comp USA or something. Good luck!
Does your monitor have dual inputs? If so, consequently connect one system to one input and the other system to the other input. There should be one of the control buttons that switches between the inputs.

If one of the inputs is DVI and neither system has DVI-D out, check if the input have DVI-A support. Look at the connector socket. On one side there is a long slot If it have four contacts around it then it supports an analog signal. Either procure a DVI to VGA cable, or use a VGA to VGA cable and VGA to DVI adapter.
KVM switch is what you need. They run anywhere from $12-$50. I use one at work near 2 machines. (Easy to set up to) To switch, you simply press the Scroll lock button twice & then the down knob, or up key to metamorphosis screens, basically like that.

They reclaim time!!!
